I hold an M.S. in Scientific Computing and Applied Mathematics and a B.S. in Applied Mathematics, Statistics from the University of California Santa Cruz. My research experience spans multiple scientific disciplines, including ecology and conservation, evolutionary biology, computational genomics, and robotics.
Before pursuing higher education, I had a diverse technical foundation through hands-on work as a car mechanic and apprentice electrician. I then served in the U.S. Navy as an Aviation Machinist Mate at Naval Air Station Lemoore, where I maintained F-414 turbofan jet engines in both a fast-paced training squadron and an intermediate-level maintenance facility.
